New Health Clinic for Gharb

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne together with the Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri inaugurated a health clinic in the community in Gharb, next to the local council and the locality’s primary school.

This clinic will offer five services to the residents of Gharb and its surroundings which are the family doctor’s clinic, the nursing clinic, podiatry, physiotherapy and pathology services of the spoken language. The project was financed by the National Social Development Fund (NDSF).

The Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne stressed that the program of renovation and opening of new clinics in the community was also extended to the island of Gozitan, and that this project will complement a series of other projects that continue to bring the health services closer to the Gozitan communities. He recalled the Omicron flu and booster vaccination program that will start on Monday 17 October and will be given by the scheduled Health Centers and community clinics, including in the new clinic in Gharb.

The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri showed his satisfaction for the opening of this new clinic in Gharb. He stated that “Such clinics continue to strengthen health care and meet the needs of people close to where they live and work. I look forward to more work so that we can continue to improve health care on the island of Gozdija.”

He concluded by mentioning the importance that the new Gharb clinic is located in a central location and in an environment that welcomes everyone who needs to make use of it.
