Charles Camenzuli has been reconfirmed as President of AIPS Europe which is the European branch of the International Sport Media Association.
Camenzuli was reconfirmed in this role after he won an election over French candidate Marc Ventouillac from the newspaper L’Equipe with 26 votes to 13. This election was held on Tuesday morning during the opening of the 84th AIPS Congress being held in Rome Italy. A total of 39 countries were eligible to vote whilst several others were also attending as observers.
In his first comments, Charles Camenzuli thanked all those that supported his candidature to continue as President whilst also emphasising that he is the President for all European Countries even those that had supported his opponent Marc Ventouillac.
The Executive Committee of the Malta Sports Journalists Association expressed its satisfaction for this result which carries a great responsibility not only by its Honorary President Charles Camenzuli but also by the Maltese Association.
During the congress Malta is represented by President Sandro Micallef, General Secretary Lorraine Cunningham and Executive Committee member Antvin Monseigneur.
