In less than 24 hours, as a result of intensive investigations into a fatal hit-and-run incident which took place in Żejtun yesterday, the Major Crimes Department and officers from the Police Forensics and Zejtun District traced the vehicle involved and arrested the alleged driver.
The driver, a 21-year-old, resident of Birżebbuġa was arrested earlier today while the car, a Mazda Demio, was found in a garage in Żabbar.
He is being held in custody, while police investigations and the Magisterial Inquiry are ongoing.
