A police officer was injured when the motorcycle he was riding was hit be a car driven by a man who was trying to escape from officers of the Rapid Intervention Unit.
RIU officers had followed the man from Marsa at around 7am on Wednesday and as the suspect was driving dangerously and refusing to stop, several warning shots were fired.
Eventually the car was stopped in Vjal Sir Paul Boffa in Paola and the driver arrested.
