A man died after jumping into the sea near Sliema on Sunday afternoon.
The man, a 40-year-old Turkish national who lives in the town, was found lying on the rocky shore.
A medical team and Civil Protection members were called to the scene and the injured man was taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital. Sadly he died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
