Prime Minister Robert Abela also took part in the discussion on economic issues, and here he said that Malta stresses coordination in the economic policy of the European Union to ensure economic stability that continues to lead to prosperity.
A discussion on the energy sector has arisen in the Council, with Malta agreeing that the European Union explore cooperation with other international partners to counter the impact of rising energy prices.
On the theme of the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Prime Minister stressed that after its end with a consultative process with European citizens, our work will begin to address the proposals put forward.
Here the Prime Minister noted positively that what Malta has always hinted at, namely that what the citizens want does not necessarily require a change in the current Treaty of the Union, was the conclusion of the technical services of the European institutions.
The European Council discussed Europe in a broad sense, where discussions took place on the European Union’s relations with its partners in Europe, including on how to foster political dialogue and strengthen security, stability and prosperity of the European continent.
