Minister for the Economy, European Funds and Lands opened PressEnter Group’s new state-of-the-art head office in Sliema.
The minister explained that last year, this company had announced that it will be expanding its footprint in Malta by moving to new offices. “Today we are inaugurating 1500sq.m. of office space spread over six floors and a business expansion of a company that forms part of the list of 300+ iGaming companies operating in and from Malta – a sector that plays host to thousands of quality gaming-related jobs”, stated Minister Schembri.
PressEnter is an operator behind some of the world’s most popular online casino brands. It has gone from being a single brand operator to an enterprise with several online casino assets. Since 2020, profits of the company have tripled and the workforce has grown significantly. In fact, the number of workers has quadrupled in the past two years, hence the need for the expansion. PressEnter will also be increasing the brands it represents.
“Many industry players consider our island to be a thought leader and a tried and tested jurisdiction. I am thrilled to see PressEnter using Malta as a platform for their global ambitions. While Malta understands the industry of gaming and strives to meet the demand of an ever-growing market, we need to have the foresight, and this can only be done by roping in all industry players to listen to their opinions and ideas so that we can adapt to today’s operational needs by being agile and efficient in our regulatory systems”, highlighted the minister.
He also emphasised the importance of striking a balance between responsible gaming and seeing that iGaming companies operate smoothly. “As much as our gaming friendly regulations have played a major role in the country’s success in attracting iGaming companies to set up shop in Malta, I reiterate my call for the industry to continue to adopt responsible gaming measures and to adhere to the rules that are in place”, stated Minister Schembri.
