The Minister for Inclusion, Volunteering and Consumer Rights Julia Farrugia Portelli announced that 44 voluntary organizations will benefit from the Quality of Life scheme, issued last February.
This scheme, with an allocation of € 50,000, is aimed at helping voluntary organizations to carry out community projects and improve the quality of life of the public through their work. Voluntary organizations that have benefited from this scheme range from environmental, cultural, sports, band clubs, as well as those working in the social sector.
Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli pointed out that it is not only the 44 voluntary organizations that will be benefiting from this scheme, but thousands of people who will be touching the projects carried out by these voluntary organizations. The Minister referred to this scheme as another link in a series of schemes for voluntary organizations through which work is done for a more inclusive society and Malta.
The Minister emphasized that the voluntary organizations will continue to support the Government so that their work continues to be for the common good and no one is allowed to fall behind. “I look forward to seeing these projects come to life to truly offer a better quality of life to the community,” concluded Minister Farrugia Portelli.
Nancy Caruana, Permanent Secretary within the Ministry for Inclusion, Volunteering and Consumer Rights, stressed that as a result of this scheme the Government wanted to emphasize the importance of voluntary organizations as key stakeholders in our country.
The Permanent Secretary concluded by thanking all the voluntary organizations for their quiet and dedicated work.
