Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the new Classic Design Woodworks factory in the Bulebel industrial area, with an investment of € 1.2 million.
The investment consists of a facility equipped with the latest machinery and technology.
Classic Design Woodworks is a furniture manufacturer of all sizes and has been established in the local industry by the Ellul family for the past 20 years.
In the presence of Classic Design Woodworks Director Sammy Ellul, Prime Minister Robert Abela noted the resilience and willingness of the Maltese entrepreneur who paved the way for a self-employed worker to establish a 14- the person. Over the last few years the company has substantially increased its production and subsequently had to leave its operations in Marsa and relocate to Bulebel.
The new factory offers the highest level machinery, the best technology, a better environment for workers and a safer place.
Mr Ellul said that over the past six years he had begun to see work increase at a rapid pace and had therefore chosen to expand his operations; both from an infrastructural and a human point of view.
In the new factory it was explained to the Prime Minister both the Wage Supplement and the initiatives to keep energy prices stable were crucial decisions for businesses such as those in manufacturing to continue investing.
“During the pandemic we were determined to keep up the good work thanks to government support, including the Wage Supplement, which helped Classic Design Woodworks mitigate its impact on operations. “said Mr. Ellul.
