The International Association for Social Security (ISSA) has acknowledged the work done by the Ministry for Social Policy and the Rights of the Child to help parents and people with disabilities or vulnerabilities affected by the effects of pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
The Maltese work has gained recognition along with those of social security institutions from Israel, Germany and France. The honors were presented at a European forum organized by NOW in Estonia on 2 and 3 May.
The association stated that in its work the Ministry of Social Policy and the Rights of the Child has recognized not only the challenges, but also that it turns them into an opportunity to further improve the quality of social services and strengthens communication with its customers.
On behalf of the ministry, and on behalf of the Financial Aid and Compliance Division and the Department of Social Security, the certificate of merit was received by the Director General of Social Security Grazio Barbara and the Director for International Relations Alexia Vella.
