During a visit to the DARI showroom in the Ħandaq industrial area in Qormi, Prime Minister Robert Abela once again noted the zeal of the Maltese entrepreneur and the local talent who are able to manufacture a high level product from beginning to end.
DARI, which is part of SAW Ltd and has over 30 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, offers a wide selection of furniture made entirely from the ideas and creativity of Maltese minds.
During the visit, the Prime Minister reiterated how a company like DARI deserves all the praise because even in moments of international challenges facing the world due to the pandemic, the leadership of the group remained resilient and innovative.
DARI Director and Chief Executive Officer Stephen Azzopardi said that after 30 years of experience in commercial manufacturing, the team felt the need to embark on a local market for a project offering a selection of manufactured home furniture. locally and with high quality, both in terms of the product itself and the design. “As a result, we have paved the way and started offering this service to a Maltese consumer. This was possible because we invested a total of € 1.5 million in a new state-of-the-art showroom showcasing a variety of kitchens, bedrooms and living areas, ”said Mr Azzopardi.
Mark Cassar, Commercial & Brand Manager, explained that the DARI name actually reflects everything that is Maltese. “We wanted this name because we wanted to send a message that this work is local, from the main design to the finalized production. We also wanted to emphasize the importance of this product being suitable for Maltese households and affecting the tastes of the Maltese consumer. Thus, the consumer is the center of this brand, “said Mr. Cassar.
Mr Cassar also explained how DARI wants to be a sustainable example in everything it produces. “DARI manufactures the entire product locally and as a result, the process is having less of an impact on the environment because logistically transportation is minimized almost entirely,” said Mr Cassar.
He also reiterated that the factory operates with high efficiency thanks to the latest technology in the machinery purchased, using natural light while generating a substantial percentage of electricity consumption through PV panels. The factory process does not generate additional waste as the excess material is reused or recycled.
While DARI currently employs a total of 70 people, the company plans to expand its team with the aim of continuing to serve the Maltese consumer more efficiently.
