At a news conference in Kalkara, Minister Byron Camilleri launched an investment of € 1.6 million in four new Civil Protection vehicles, which are a direct investment in family safety.
The four new vehicles, including a heavy rescue vehicle that will be used in major accidents, a Hazmat fire fighting vehicle that will assist in the event of a chemical or radiation accident, and two forest fire fighting vehicles designed to burn vegetables in the summer months, combining the number of thirty-four vehicles and a craft that have been purchased in the last two years alone.
The minister reiterated that the government continues to reaffirm and reaffirm the clear and unequivocal commitment to further strengthen the Department of Civil Protection and above all the workers, who make and form this department.
“Civil Protection plays an invaluable role in our communities and these people who are the first to offer help, who are at the forefront of saving lives, who are at the forefront of providing the their assistance in all circumstances, even dangerous ones, isn’t that the best tool we have to give them? That is what we are doing, “said the Interior Minister.
