Tanker struck by heavy winds over weekend towed to safety

A tanker which had been in danger of being pushed onto rocks by heavy seas and high winds over the weekend has been towed to a safe anchorage.

The 209-metre Chem P lost control amid gale force winds and was drifting inland towards the Bahar ic-Caghaq coast.

As the weather eased on Monday morning, tugs were able to two the ship to safety near Anchor Bay.
