A comment by Prime Minister Robert Abela is being published in light of the latest developments and aggression against Ukraine.
“Tensions in Ukraine and intelligence over the possibility of a military attack have persisted. However, the scenes we are currently watching are heartbreaking. The attempted invasion of parts of eastern Ukraine and being reported closer to the west in Kyiv, we have always wished not to see. The path we have always taken, namely that of diplomacy to reach a solution and safeguard peace through dialogue, is the path we have been and will continue to prefer. We have always insisted that dialogue and finding solutions is better than any conflict. As European leaders we will meet in Brussels later today. We will continue to support and show solidarity with Ukraine. We condemn any aggression or threat to the integrity and territorial sovereignty of this State. ”
