Hibernians lead at the top of the Premiership has been cut to six points over Floriana after being held to a 1-1 draw by Sirens.
It was Sirens who fired the first warning when a slack backpass put Hibs under pressure in the opening minute.
Hibs regained their composure and looked to be totally in control when Jurgen Degabriele fired them in front with just 15 minutes of the first half gone.
The best chance for Sirens came midway through the first half when they got behind Hibs defenders but they could not find the vital finish.
Wilfried was twice denied by Sirens keeper Debono a nd the keeper came to Sirens rescue just before the break when he tipped Degabriele’s close range shot over the bar.
It was Sirens who started quickly at the restart as they again got around Hibs defenders but could only hit the side netting.
Hibernian’s were creating chances, the best falling to Degabriele who twice went close but found Debono in outstanding form.
With twenty minutes remaining, Sirens drew level when Karmer Reid scrambled the ball past Cremona.
1-1 it finished, not the result Hibernian’s would have liked but at least it kept their unbeaten run intact.
