During a visit to Sliema, the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg inaugurated the works carried out by the Department of Public Works in the Annunciation Square with an investment of around € 300,000. .

As we have done and are doing in other projects of this type including in Mqabba, Mellieħa and Birgu, here we have seen that we continue to offer more accessibility considering that these spaces are where the community meets. every day and they are the main point where many community activities are held such as holidays “, said the minister.
The works in the square were also carried out with the aim of better organizing the existing car park by applying current standards, as they emerge from the guidelines of the Planning Authority, when it comes to car parking in open spaces. To meet these standards, it was necessary to change the way traffic passes through this square in one direction.
