The President of the Republic has commissioned the Electoral Commission to hold a casual election in the Third Electoral District following the resignation of Silvio (Silvio John) Grixti. The writ has been published in last Friday’s Government Gazette. The Electoral Commission therefore notifies that it shall be receiving candidates’ nominations for a casual election to elect a Member of Parliament in the Third Electoral District.
Eligible candidates who contested the Third Electoral District in the June 2017 General Election and who were not elected, may present their nomination form as from today Monday 27th till Friday the 31st December, 2021, at the Electoral Commission’s Office at the Ex-Trade Fair Grounds, Naxxar, between 9.00 a.m. and noon. Nomination forms may be obtained from the Office of the Electoral Commission in Naxxar.
The Electoral Commission further notifies that the counting of votes for this casual election shall take place at the Naxxar Counting Hall on Tuesday, 4th January, 2022 from 08:30a.m onwards.
