With an investment of € 350,000, the Infrastructure Malta agency has completed the construction of a new public car park next to Saint Thomas More Middle School, in Ħal Tarxien.
This was inaugurated by the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg during a press conference.
The car park includes 128 spaces and is located in Triq Ċikku Saliba, less than 200 meters away from the Tarxien Parish Church.
Minister Ian Borg said that from an abandoned site, the public will now be able to enjoy new and safer parking. “Through this investment we will be reducing congestion in these areas as people will take less time to find space for their vehicles, while reducing double and triple parking problems. As we have done in other projects of this kind, we have also seen the inclusion of other facilities, including two electric car charging points. Due to the fact that the car park is close to the school, we have also seen the implementation of the best possible security through new bus lay-bys. “
