Mater Dei Hospital’s ambulance service will be further enhanced by the recruitment of 11 new ambulances which were inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne along with Dr Michael Spiteri, the Clinical Emergency Chairperson.
These ambulances, brought from Germany and equipped with the latest technology, exceed all industry standards in terms of safety and the number of treatments that can be offered, will be used for the next decade. coming to the medical emergencies of our country. The Deputy Prime Minister explained that these ambulances are equipped with automated external cardiac massage, automated external defibrillators, live patient telemetry systems, ventilators and live video streaming, among other equipment that will improve the experience of workers as well as -patients who use the service.
“Today we can say that our ambulances are mobile ITUs”, said the Deputy Prime Minister while explaining how these ambulances even allow specialists to see the situation of the patient and direct the ambulance workers until arrive at Mater Dei Hospital.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that although an excellent service is already being offered, this department is expected to continue to grow in order to increase the services provided to patients in the Emergency in a shorter time. He reminded that this investment will be added to the chain of new projects launched in the hospital’s Emergency Department in recent months, which include the new 112 Emergency Command Center and the rapid response vehicles service.
