President of Malta George Vella and Mrs Vella visited the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation’s temporary premises at 65, Old Mint Street, Valletta, accompanied by Archbishop Charles Scicluna.
The foundation had to relocate due to the major restoration project currently being carried out by Heritage Malta at the Grandmaster’s Palace, on the ground floor of which the MCCFF’s official premises are situated. The alternative premises were made available by the Archbishop’s Curia following an intervention by Archbishop Scicluna himself.
After touring the offices and greeting the staff, President Vella thanked Archbishop Scicluna and the Church for providing the space to the foundation. Archbishop Scicluna said that this gesture by the Church authorities was a concrete way to support the MCCFF’s work. The two leaders called on everyone to express their solidarity with those in need by helping the foundation, through their donations during the upcoming L-Istrina telethon and in any other way.
