The international agency Fitch Ratings confirmed the rating of Malta as ‘A +’ with stable prospects. This is despite the impact of the pandemic, which is causing this agency to revise down the ranking of several countries.
They confirmed the good rating because the experts of Fitch Ratings chose to improve their forecasts for the economic growth of Malta next year.
While earlier this year they were predicting that in 2022 we will grow by 3.9%, now they are predicting a growth of 6.1%. This while they are predicting that this year our economy will have grown by 5.7%. This recovery is due to several factors, but the main one is the success of the vaccination program. Fitch experts also note how strong the labour market has remained and how this is leading to a good level of consumption and investment.
