Anti-Drug Police Squad scored another success in less than 24 hours with seven people arrested in three raids that resulted
in finding a considerable amount of heroin and cocaine ready for trafficking.
After several days of observation on a residence and shed in the area of Triq is-Serkin and Triq Race, Marsa, on Tuesday evening the Police arrested four people, two men and two women ranging in age from 17 to 24 years.
In the shed in Triq it-Tigrija, suspected sachets of heroin and cocaine were found, as well as a substantial amount of cash. From the same place police also confiscated electronic devices including CCTV cameras and monitors, three BMW’s, a Jaguar, a Mercedes and amount of gold.
Officers from the Animal Welfare Department were called to the scene as a racehorse and a pit bull dog were also found.
In another raid, this time in a private residence in Triq is-Serkin, officers also found an amount cocaine and heroin that was also ready to be trafficked. In total they found 120 sachets of drugs.
Work by the Anti-Drug Squad Police resumed on Wednesday, where three men, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested.
Following information that the men were using different vehicles, and that they were in possession of drugs, the Police began following them from a distance until they were stopped in Triq l Mdina, Qormi.
A search of the vehicle of one of the suspects was carried out and in it police found a quantity of drugs, believed to be cocaine, allegedly ready for trafficking.
Police also confiscated a large amount of money while conducting other searches in the their residences, as well as in a car showroom.
