Malta records the highest increase in nights spent in tourist accommodation from all European Union countries
According to figures released by Eurostat, between June and August of this year Malta recorded the highest increase in nights spent in tourist accommodation among all the countries of the European Union.
Compared to the same period of 2020, Malta recorded an increase of almost 120% followed by Spain and Greece by 100% respectively.
The increase that our country has experienced in the number of tourists who spend nights in the Maltese islands exceeds the European average of 20%. This means that the increase was six times the European Union average.
The number of nights spent by tourists in tourist accommodation establishments between June and August this year has increased in almost all member states, with the exception of Latvia.
