Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced in Parliament that the heliport runway in Gozo is to be extended.
He explained that the extension would not intrude beyond the existing boundary walls.
The present runway is only 179m long.
He said the requirement would be for an aircraft capable of short take and landings and able to carry around ten passengers.
