Laboratories at Mater Dei Hospital, home to some of the most important blood tests, have just been equipped with six new artificial intelligence machines with an investment of € 4.5 million. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne during a visit he made to the haematology laboratory at Mater Dei Hospital. These machines can analyze 600 blood samples per hour. The Deputy Prime Minister praised the valuable work done in the Department of Pathology where 50,000 different tests are analyzed daily. "When a patient is in hospital he sees doctors, nurses and carers around him, but the hospital has many services that all work together in tune to give the patient the best possible care. One of these departments is that of Pathology where tests are performed on blood and cells through which doctors will be able to make their diagnosis ", said the Deputy Prime Minister. He explained that these new machines have the ability to tell you if there is a need for further tests on the sample they are analyzing. The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the staff of the Department of Pathology, Biomedical, and CPSU who worked together to make this project a success.
