In the week leading up to World Mental Health Day, the Mount Carmel Hospital continued the infrastructural works that are part of the government’s plan to beautify the environment in which mental health care is provided to -patients admitted.
The works reached another milestone, as Block 10 of the hospital was demolished, which had structural problems, so now works begin on the therapeutic garden that will replace this 4,500-square-meter site.
During a site visit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne reiterated the government’s commitment that, in addition to increasing mental health care services in the community, investment will be made in the hospital. the country’s leading specialist in mental health care. He stated that the therapeutic garden, which will have internal walkways surrounded by trees, plants, fountains, recreation and relaxation areas, areas for occupational therapy and other services, will serve to provide a place for workers and patients to relax and enjoy the serenity of nature.
