Police and Customs seize cars stolen in Canada

Work by the Police of the Criminal Investigations Team, with the assistance of Customs Department, led to the interception of two reported vehicles stolen in Canada.

Last week, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) called for the assistance of the Maltese police as soon as they had information that the two vehicles were probably in a container in on their way to Malta and then on to Abu Dhabi.

On this information, today, police went to the Freeport and together with Customs officers inspected three suspicious containers using a scanner which showed that the contents did not match the documents.

The containers were opened and in one of them police found the stolen vehicles, two Lexus RX350s.
Police along with Customs officers also opened the other two containers and in them more vehicles were found that did not match the documents. The vehicles found were Range Rover Velar, Ford Mustang GT and Ford F150.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
