During an on-site visit, Interior, National Security and Law Enforcement Minister Byron Camilleri had the opportunity to closely follow a training session and talk to officials about their experience. . He stressed that this investment is instrumental in moving officers forward and perfecting their skills. “Investment in security has not stopped in a pandemic and will continue in the near future. As a government we will continue to give all the necessary resources to further strengthen the Civil Protection, “said Minister Camilleri.
The Director General of Civil Protection, Emanuel Psaila, explained that in our country there have been several cases where a rescue operation from a high place such as a cliff continues and therefore, in those circumstances, the Civil Protection needs to use the -ropes as a rescue method as soon as the use of other equipment is not possible. He said the training is being given according to international standards and it is the first time that a course of its kind is being held in the country.
