A second consecutive win result for the Malta Futsal Team in their summer week training camp in Croatia, beating San Marino 1-0 on Friday.
The contest was totally dominated by the boys led by coach Zeljko Anicic enjoying most of the possession forcing our opponents to defend for the majority of the game.
Match winner scored by captain Mark Zammit to earn Malta this vital win.
This win result follows a 5-2 success for the boys the day before (Thursday) over Montenegro.
Next for the boys it’s the final for 3rd & 4th place on Sunday against the winner of the match between Italy and Finland who rub shoulders later on Friday.
Malta Futsal Team Head of Delegation in Croatia Mark Marlow described this experience for the team playing at this level as valuable.
He added, “The players are in good spirit, the way they overcame the opening match defeat against Saudi Arabia is a clear prove the boys mean business and are resolute to up their level and compete with the very best in this international Futsal level.
Biggest test as yet for the boys in this Summer Week Futsal Camp in Croatia comes on Sunday as both Finland and Italy are very strong, but the camp, players and staff are all upbeat of maintaining this momentum in their efforts to attain another positive result.
