Taste 5 boutique D.O.K. Malta, D.O.K. Gozo, and I.G.T. Maltese Islands wines made by Delicata, accompanied by fresh Maltese bread or Ħobż Malti and local extra virgin olive oil, in a truly unique participatory setting.
The Delicata family carries with it the oldest history of winemaking in Malta. The family’s business has survived the test of time since 1907 and today stands as Malta’s most-awarded winemaker.
The old Delicata winery stood atop a huge historic warehouse complex built by Ancient Romans in Marsa, a very important seaport to them and Malta’s foreign rulers from Medieval Times to the 20th Century. In 1965, Emmanuel Delicata moved to larger premises across the Grand Harbour of Valletta, a centre of the local wine trade since the 18th century. In fact, the Delicata wine tasting vault, the premises where this wine tasting session will take place, is a 300-year-old warehouse built during the times of Grand Master Ramon Perellós.
Come and learn first hand about the science, hard work and passion involved in heroic winegrowing the Delicata way!
