One of Malta’s richest men, Yorgen Fenech, has been charged with being the mastermind behind the 2017 murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Malta’s attorney-general has called for Yorgen Fenech to be given life in prison for allegedly masterminding the high-profile murder, which shocked the island nation and called into question its rule of law.
The prosecution alleges that Fenech bought machine guns, bullets, hand grenades and poison on what is known as the dark web.
Attorney General Victoria Buttigieg is calling for a life sentence for the murder and 20 to 30 years for a criminal conspiracy charge.
