That is why we will continue to invest in quality vocational education and training “, said the Minister for Education Justyne Caruana when she visited the restoration work of the Chapel of Santa Katerina in Gudja, work done by students of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).
Vocational courses at MCAST offer students the opportunity to acquire both practical and theoretical skills. The Department of Construction within the Institute of Engineering and Transportation offers courses that allow students to embark on a career in the repair and restoration of historic buildings. Lecturers guide students to participate in restoration interventions. In these courses, students gain skills in maintenance, protection and preservation, as well as cleaning and restoration procedures.
