Prime Minister Robert Abela said the decision by FATF, (Financial Action Task Force), is unjust but that Malta would respect the decision and work with the FATF to resolve any shortcomings.
At a press conference shortly after the FATF decision was announced the prime minister said there will be no knee-jerk reaction but that the government will work with local and international stake-holders to address issues raised the FATF.
Finance Minister Clyde Caruana, who also attended the press conference, said there would be no dramatic overnight impacts and that the government would work with the local business community to overcome any challenges.
