The Ministry for Solidarity and Social Justice, the Family and the Rights of the Child and the Association of Local Councils have signed a strategic partnership to work together through GEMMA (the education platform on government financial capacity), to improve the financial capacity of Maltese and Gozitan residents during life events, including retirement.
The aim of this strategic partnership between the Association of Local Councils and GEMMA is to ensure that people are better informed about things that affect their finances and thus be able to make decisions. the right to match their personal circumstances.
Through the Association of Local Councils, GEMMA will work with regional and local councils to carry out financial capacity programs that include, among other things, budgeting for protection against scams and fraud. GEMMA will also make resources including videos and financial capacity manuals available to regional and local councils to make them accessible to people within communities.
The Association of Local Councils will make its digital resources available to GEMMA, including its You Safe portal, Facebook page, the website of the Association of Local Councils as well as facilitating membership. between GEMMA and the respective digital resources of regional and local councils to help GEMMA reach more Maltese and Gozitan residents.
This is the eleventh strategic partnership that the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Justice, Family and Children’s Rights has entered into on behalf of GEMMA with other institutions and bodies. Other strategic partnerships include the Central Bank of Malta, the University of Malta, Bank of Valletta, MAPFRE MSV Life, General Workers’ Union, the eSkills Malta Foundation, Mental Health Malta, the Maltese House. of SMEs and UĦM Voice of the Workers.
