Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg visited the Rabat Civic Centre, where he inaugurated an investment of around €60,000 on the centre with works carried out by the Public Works department.
Minister Ian Borg praised the work being done by the Public Works department, and stressed on the importance of having high-quality spaces where communities can meet and spend their time.
“It is also equally important to remind ourselves that this place also provides important health services and it is therefore essential to have an adequate building, so that these services are offered in the best conditions. As a government, we remain committed to continue to work on and implement similar projects, so that we ensure that everyone in society, from the youngest to the oldest, experience a high quality of life.
Works on this project included the painting of the common area, the library entrance, the building’s three floors, the stair railing, the indoor, outdoor as well as the library doors. Membrane was placed on part of the lift, and liquid membrane was also applied on all roofs.
Furthermore, wires were removed, LED lights were applied for more efficiency and a sensor to turn on the light was installed on each floor in front of the elevator door. An elevator was also installed as part of the project.
