Malta is among a group of countries hoping to be added to the UK’s Green Travel list.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to announce a review of travel restrictions later today.
The Green Travel list means holidaymakers returning to the UK do not have to isolate but do require a post-arrival test.
