Malta finished in seventh place in the Eurovision Finals as Destiny only got 47 points from the public vote.
Italy ran out winners after picking up over 300 votes from the public while long time front runners Switzerland and France dropped off the leader-board.
It was a disappointing result for Malta and Destiny who had been among the favourites to win and had in fact romped away with the first semi-final picking up 325 votes.
Norway, Romania, Australia and Sweden all gave Malta 12 points. Some other countries less so.
Destiny smashed her performance in the final, the live audience loved her but this is Eurovision. Never easy to predict how the voting will go on the night.
