The Malta Society of Arts’ (MSA) annual general meeting (AGM) was held on Monday 29 March 2021. The AGM, which normally takes place at the MSA’s seat Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta, was held through a Zoom session conducted with stakeholders and
interested parties.
Two new members were elected to the Committee during this election: Judge Joseph A.Filletti, who had previously filled the role of President of the MSA between 2011 and 2012, and Ms Lara Boffa, who will be sitting on the Committee for the first time.
The two new members will join the Committee composed of Arch. Adrian Mamo as President, Mr Roderick Camilleri as Vice-President, Mr Stephen Sant’Angelo as Honorary Secretary, Ms Dorothy Meli as Honorary Treasurer, members Ms Margaret Farrugia, Mr Joseph J.Mifsud, Mr Anthony Patrick Vella, and MSA Manager Mr Joe Scerri.
The MSA Committee elects three members annually, and electees sit on the Committee for three years. All Committee members bring their vast experience in the art field to the table and dedicate their time on a voluntary basis for the benefit of the Society.
The Committee, which serves as the main authority of the Society, ensures that the Statute of the Society is abided by. It also creates policies within the Society and takes final decisions on various subjects.
MSA President Arch. Adrian Mamo is looking forward to continuing to grow the Malta Society of Arts’ role in the artistic community. “Our main next task for the coming years will be to produce more artistic initiatives and to create a programme for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the MSA at Palazzo de La Salle in 2023.”
