Two more restaurants, Bahia in Lija and ION in Valletta have been awarded Michelin stars, joining Malta’s other award winning restaurants, De Mondion in Mdina, Under Grain and Noni in Valletta.

We are extremely proud of our team for such a great accomplishment, especially so quickly after opening last November! Michelin recognises some of the greatest cuisines around the world and the much-coveted Michelin Star is considered an authentic hallmark of exceptional fine dining since Michelin inspectors are among the few who remain anonymous when reviewing a restaurant!
Tourism minister Clayton Bartolo welcomed the new additions saying, “This is a stamp of quality that indicates how our restaurant sector is upgrading its levels. Up till not that long ago, we did not have any Michelin star restaurants, today we have five with now more than thirty included in the Michelin guide. The gastronomic sector is an important stakeholder in the government’s vision of making Malta a home of tourism excellence where quantity and quality need to walk together in everything that we do.”
