A 37-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both from Hungary, were arrested in a joint operation by the
Anti-Drug Squad and the Rapid Intervention Unit (RIU) Police, after they were caught with a quantity of drugs, ready for trafficking.
After days of investigations and observations on drug imports, on Friday morning police entered a house in Birżebbuġa and during a search they found a substance suspected to be heroin and MDMA ready to be trafficked, as well as a substance
suspected to be amphetamine.
They are expected to appear in court today.
