Early this morning, at around 5.30am the Police were informed that a group of immigrants had entered Wied il-Buni in Birżebbuġa.
The District Police went to the area where they found 55 immigrants, all men. They had apparently arrived in Malta in a dinghy from Libya and that was found nearby.
The immigrants were detained by the Immigration Police for further investigation.
