Investigations by the Anti-Drug Police Squad on Saturday led to the arrest of four Maltese people, in three separate raids.
After days of observation, police raided a private residence in St. Lucia and arrested a 48-year-old woman. About 50 packages of a substance suspected to be cocaine were found at the residence and articles related to drug use and trafficking. The woman is expected be brought to Court tomorrow.
A 49-year-old Msida resident was arrested later in the day. The police were following a suspicious package that came by mail from abroad. After that the package was followed to the woman’s residence in Msida, in which an amount of suspected cannabis was found.
In another operation, following information that drug abuse was taking place at a hotel in St Julian’s, police searched a room and arrested two people found in possession of what they believed to be cannabis.
Police investigations into these cases are ongoing.
