Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Evarist Bartolo is leading a Maltese delegation on a visit to the United Arab Emirates with the aim of further strengthening relations between the two countries.
The friendship between the two countries, which goes back 48 years, has resulted in sincere cooperation in various fields, especially in the commercial sector.
During this visit, Minister Bartolo shall inaugurate Malta’s new embassy in Abu Dhabi, which will strengthen the country’s diplomatic presence in the Golf countries.
Talks will also focus on strengthening pro-peace diplomacy in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. This, along with other topics of mutual interest, such as the tourism sector, air connectivity between the two countries, co-operation in education, financial services, renewable energy, as well as trade issues.
