Within a year science has given us a vaccine through which we are fighting Covid-19, said Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne while today taking the first dose of the vaccine.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the roll-out of the vaccine in the country is progressing as planned and from tomorrow the vaccine will be given to the pharmacists and the staff in the pharmacies in the community while they will start receiving the letters by appointment those aged between 80 and 85 years.
The Deputy Prime Minister appealed to everyone who receives the appointment to believe in science and get the vaccine. He insisted that all of us remain prudent, keep washing our hands often, wear the mask and keep social distance.
Opposition Health Spokesperson Dr Stephen Spiteri also called on the public to make use of this important tool and get the vaccine, and to continue to observe all preventive measures.
