Prime Minister Robert Abela together with the Minister for the Economy and Industry Silvio Schembri and the Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Planning Aaron Farrugia visited an ongoing € 50 million investment in the facilities of ‘Simonds Farsons Cisk and Trident Estates in the Mrieħel Industrial Area – a project that will be hosting 1,500 workers.
The chairman of the company Louis Farrugia together with the management of Farsons showed the Prime Minister the facilities of the brewery, bottling and packaging using the latest technology.
Prime Minister Robert Abela said that he is satisfied with the way the company has evolved over the years and is a perfect example of how every business in the country should aspire to reach the highest level of success in every form of business. He also noted that the management of the company appreciated the financial assistance offered by the government through the wage supplement.
Minister Aaron Farrugia said that the meeting was a look at the future of the country with a project focused on modern, sustainable and climate-friendly buildings, against the background of discussions on the circular economy that the country is embracing and that the government is pushing.
Minister for the Economy and Industry Silvio Schembri noted how the company Farsons Group, for the last 90 years has continuously shown resilience and has remained a pioneer in updating its operation with the developments of modern technology. Minister Schembri said Farsons Group recognized the opportunity and invested in the field of automation and technical skills of its workers, to enhance the quantity in its production and the quality of its service.
