During a graduation ceremony, 17 lecturers from the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) successfully graduated with a Masters in International Hospitality Management from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
ITS and the said university signed an agreement in 2016 to provide ITS lecturers with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree with the same university. All costs are being paid by the Institute of Tourism Studies with an investment of more than € 300,000 for the Institute’s academic staff. There were 17 lecturers who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2017 and now 17 lecturers graduated with a Masters’s Degree.
Present for the occasion were the Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Clayton Bartolo, the Chairman and Chief Executive of ITS Carlo Micallef and Pierre Fenech respectively, the Deputy Principal of Haaga-Helia University Jouni Ahonen as well as the President of the Malta Union of Teachers Marco Bonnici.
