During a visit on Sunday morning at Enemalta’s plants, the Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development Miriam Dalli thanked the workers who carried out the work to restore power on Saturday evening.
“On my behalf and on behalf of the Prime Minister Robert Abela I thank the workers of Enemalta for the efficient and effective way in which they worked when on Saturday evening an interruption in the interconnector station in Sicily caused a cut in the supply of electricity to Malta. Enemalta technicians increased the electricity generation so that in eight minutes, the electricity supply started to return to normal. In 40 minutes, the affected localities had the service back, “said Minister Dalli.
Minister Dalli explained how the system that Enemalta operates ensures as much efficiency as possible, but above all it is the workers and technicians who act immediately.
