Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced that during the month of December, the Gozo Channel will be giving 25 cents from each standard ticket purchased to the Malta Community Chestfund Foundation for Istrina.
Speaking at a press conference Minister Camilleri said that Istrina has become synonymous with Maltese and Gozitans where at this time of year everyone comes together to give their help and the values and good heart of the people always stand out. He added that this year will be a different Christmas than usual and called for the people, especially Gozitans to be generous.
The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri concluded by praising this initiative taken by the Gozo Channel for this just cause and explained that this is being done in order to encourage the Maltese and Gozitan people to help the Malta Community Chestfund as much as possible. so that it can continue to provide assistance to anyone who needs it.
Present for this news conference were Permanent Secretary John Borg, Gozo Channel Chairman Joe Cordina, Stephen Ellul, an official on behalf of the President, and Mark Mizzi on behalf of the Malta Community Chestfund Foundation.
Gozo Channel fares will not be affected and regular rates will continue to apply.
