Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Evarist Bartolo, Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi and the President of the Chamber of Commerce address a conference on the readiness and preparedness for the end of the transition period following BREXIT.
This conference dealt with the first regional review of the global pact for safe, orderly and regular migration in the UNECE region. The Global Compact for Migration is the first inter-governmentally negotiated agreement, prepared under the auspices of the United Nations, covering all dimensions of international migration in a holistic and comprehensive manner.
The effectiveness of the Global Compact ultimately depends on its ability to address the specific and particular problems of countries and people around the world. In addition to the participation of several countries, voluntary organisations working in the immigration sector also took part.
