Customs officers have seized 23 powerboats that were destined for Libya where it is suspected they would have been used for people trafficking.
Prime Minister Robert Abela tweeted:
Today the #MT Authorities have intercepted 23 containers destined to #Libya, each containing vessels which were going to be used by human traffickers to smuggle people to the #EU. Silently but diligently, at times alone, we are fighting the root causes of irregular migration.- RA
